Gary was an actor of film, television, and stage … from the Milwaukee Repertory, to Stratford Ontario, to Eugene O’Neill Playwright’s Conference, and to Arena Stage, where he received the first Tony Award given to a repertory company. He was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for his work in the Broadway premiere of HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN FILM and starred in the Al Pacino production of RICHARD THE III and the Lamb’s Theatre production of PORCH. Some of his television credits include HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN, LA LAW, HOME IMPROVEMENT and LIFE WITH BONNIE. He starred in the NBC comedy series ME & MRS. C, and the family video series SECRET ADVENTURES. His film work includes IT CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR, YEARS OF TIIE BEAST, A MESSAGE FROM HOLLY and A CHRISTMAS WISH (www.imdb.com). He produced and directed the documentaries THE CHILDREN OF ARTSAKH, and MISSIONARY..THE GARMANS. He was a founding member of the New Harmony Project which serves writers celebrating the human spirit (www.newharmonyproject.org)

Gary began coming to Israel in 2000 to direct dramatic musicals and teach at the International School of Worship in Jerusalem. His projects in Israel were TRUTH TREK, STEVIE’S TREK TO THE HOLY LAND: ABRAHAM’S PROMISE and THE NAZARETH JESUS KNEW which is a video series he co-hosted with Pat Boone that airs on Parables TV.

He was the father of three children…Reilly Bayer, Peter Bayer, and Holly Bayer Bol and had five grandchildren.
